VAN DER KRITZ

VAN DER KRITZ is an art collective formed by Alejandra Van der Land (1974) and Matías Kritz (1973), based in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Their work is grounded in collaboration between their respective backgrounds.PracticeThrough speculative end-of-the-world fiction, which we call “situated energy fiction” (Sit-En-FI), we develop visual and sound practices to investigate contaminated and relational ecologies. We use the scientific and extractivist universes of modernity as contexts in which to sow local ancestral knowledge. We create an energetic language where there is no beginning or end, nor up or down, only a multispecies spiral for life in which multiple worlds coexist. We can see how the boundaries between nature and technology, between dream and reality, between life and death, become blurred, creating a threshold where states overlap.Their audiovisual works have been presented at UPSTATE ART WEEKEND, USA (2021); FIBER FESTIVAL, Netherlands (2021); VAFT Video Art Festival, Finland (2022), where they received the Audience Award; Festival Pleamar at the MAR Museum of Contemporary Art, Argentina (2022); SIMULTAN Festival, Romania (2022), recipients of the SIMULTAN Award 2022; Athens Digital Arts Festival, Greece (2022); Turku Art Museum, Finland (2022); Helsinki International Film Festival, Finland (2023); and Les Instants Vidéo, France (2024), among others.

CPC LAB | Complete Sound Design & Audio Processing Plugin
Producing an album from sound design changes everything. It's not a stage of the process, it is the process. The textures, the layers, the processing, are part of the composition from the very first decision.Distortion, saturation, overdrive, fuzz, these were always part of how I write and produce music, not mixing decisions. That carried through decades of personal projects and productions for others, always from the same place: sound as the starting point, not as the conclusion. The problem was always the same: to reach those sounds I had to interrupt the flow. Jumping between tools, building effect chains in different places, losing the thread of what I was constructing.CPC Lab is the answer to that. A plugin that brings together in one place the processes I use most in production: multiband saturation with ten distortion modes divided into four frequency ranges, filter, ring modulation, bit crusher, comb filter, reverb, delay, and a sixteen-step gate sequencer. All modulatable in real time by two tempo-syncable LFOs. An internal feedback loop adds just the right instability to take the sound to places you can't always plan for.A tool built from practice, not from theory.Matias Kritz

A complete sound design and processing environment in a single audio plugin.Four independent saturation bands. Fifteen distortion modes each. A full effects chain running filter, ring modulator, bit crusher, comb filter, reverb, delay, gate sequencer, and feedback loop, all modulated by two syncable LFOs. CPC Lab is built for producers who want character, movement, and total control over every frequency range, from subtle harmonic warmth to full multiband destruction.Saturation at Its CoreAt the heart of CPC Lab are 4 independent saturation bands with fixed crossover frequencies (200Hz, 1.2kHz, 6kHz), each with its own drive, mix, tone, and output level control. Every band can be individually bypassed, and a CPC Mode unlocks a set of aggressive, high-gain saturation characters exclusive to the plugin.15 distortion modes per band: Soft Clip · Hard Clip · Tape · Fold · Asymmetric · Tube · Sine · Rectify · Wrap · Aggressive Fold · Fuzz · Big Muff · Diode Clip · Chebyshev · Bitcrush SatEvery band runs with 2x oversampling (IIR polyphase) to keep aliasing out of your signal, plus a dedicated DC filter inside the oversampled domain.A Full Effects ChainThe complete processing chain runs Feedback Loop into Filter into Saturation Bands into Ring Modulator into Bit Crusher into Comb Filter with Reverb into Gate Sequencer into Delay into M/S into Master. Each module is independently bypassable.Filter: StateVariable TPT with LP, HP, BP and Notch modes; 12dB or 24dB slopeRing Modulator: sine carrier with adjustable frequency and mixBit Crusher: independent bit depth and sample rate reduction with smooth parameter interpolationComb Filter: tunable from 20Hz to 8kHz with feedback and damping; creates metallic resonances and pitch-like tonesReverb: Freeverb/Schroeder-style with size, damping and mixDelay: stereo with tempo sync, feedback and mixFeedback Loop: routes the output back into the input with short delay, attenuation and a tone filter; a limiter keeps things under controlM/S Processor: independent Mid and Side gain for stereo width controlMovement: The Modulation SystemTwo LFOs can be routed to virtually any parameter in the plugin. Each offers 5 waveforms (Sine, Triangle, Saw, Square, and Sample & Hold), free-running or tempo-synced mode with 16 subdivision options, and a dedicated bypass. Modulation targets include filter cutoff, resonance, ring mod frequency, comb frequency, delay feedback, feedback amount, drive per band, mix per band, output per band, and more, covering over 30 destinations in total. The Gate SequencerA 16-step rhythmic gate with per-step volume control, drag-to-edit interaction, and tempo sync. Includes randomize and mutate functions for generative pattern creation, plus a reset button. The current playhead position is shown in real time on the LED grid.Band Workflow ToolsLink buttons (M, D, MX): sync Mode, Drive, or Mix across all bands in real timeArrow buttons: one-shot copy of a full band configuration to the adjacent bandIndividual band bypass: each band goes greyscale when bypassed for a clear visual indication of what is active in the chainInterfaceCPC Lab features a fully custom interface with 5 color themes switchable at any time, a scalable UI from compact to full-screen, and GPU-accelerated rendering via OpenGL.5 color themes: Grey, Amber, Ice, Violet and RedScalable UI from compact to full-screenGPU-accelerated rendering via OpenGLVU Meter with stereo input/output levels, peak hold, clip latch and gain reduction readout; click to reset clip indicatorsUndo/Redo supportFull preset system with save, load, rename and deleteStandby modeRandomize function that reshuffles the entire plugin state for instant inspirationTechnical DetailsBuilt with JUCEStereo processingSample-accurate parameter smoothing on all controls (no zipper noise)Cached parameter pointers for zero-allocation audio thread performanceLicense-activated via Gumroad serial keyCPC Lab VST.
